“From early childhood, my true passion has always been art. And over the years, this passion has seen me developing strong darkroom skills and a broad experience in film development.
Not satisfied with conventional photography, I enjoy exploring multimedia techniques and utilising my knowledge as a physicist by incorporating these techniques into my artworks..
One of my recent projects is creating fascinating “biological remixes” of photographs using mould. These creations form the body of work exhibited at Curate Art & Design."
Matteo Volpi is a physicist at the University of Melbourne, where he conducts research observing particles and investigating the new generation of electron accelerators.
Matteo completed his PhD in Barcelona. He collaborated with the European Council for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, Switzerland, before relocating to Australia in 2011 for a post-doctoral position at the University of Melbourne.
